My concentration is a series of diptychs and triptychs. I started of with a simple diptych and triptych then gradually moved into comparing two totally different concepts. I compared the mouth piece of an euphonium with the outside of a shell. Then I continued looking at the juxtaposition of shapes such as the flower petals and beads and the alignment of instruments compared to the series of shells. Also juxtaposed is natural vs manmade object such as the heels and reeds. Texture is an important element in some images, such as the Indian jewelry and then the natural images of shells, flowers and trees. In the final image, I play with reflection and humor. Although this series is a wide variety of subject matter and imagery, they are unified by the exploration of deconstructing and reconstructing elements, photos and design.
